Installing on Android

The Android app comes straight from the club’s website rather than the Play Store, so Android asks a few extra questions the first time. Each one is expected.

  1. Tap Download for Android. If your phone warns that this kind of file can harm your device, choose to download it anyway.
  2. Open the downloaded file — tap Open when the download finishes, or find PhillyCS in your Downloads.
  3. If Android says your browser isn’t allowed to install apps, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
  4. Tap Install. If Google Play Protect says it doesn’t recognise the app, choose to install it anyway.
  5. Open PhillyCS and sign up — that’s it.

Updates

When a new version is ready, the Android app tells you. Tap Update; the first time, Android asks you to allow PhillyCS to install its own updates. iPhones update through the App Store as usual.
