Testimony: Karen H., Villanova University

karen hMany students love their college years because they can get away from home. I love it because I was able to find a new home at school. As much as I enjoy college life, being a college student can get pretty stressful and tiring. I found that meeting in the homes of several local Christian families was exactly what I needed. Spending time with other Christians from around the area has become the highlight of my week. No matter how busy my schedule became, I never regret taking a few hours to take a break in order to spend time with them.

I especially look forward to every Monday night because a family near Villanova’s campus opens their home to invite students over for dinner, singing, and fellowship. It’s a friendly, relaxed setting where we can invite friends, get to know one another, learn more about the Bible, and share our portion of Christ with each other. I also really appreciate the little pleasures of home that you cannot enjoy on campus – such as enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal (seriously some of the most amazing food I’ve ever eaten) around a dinner table instead of eating school food in a crowded dining hall, and playing with little kids instead of worrying about an upcoming exam. Their home became my second home, and the time I’ve spent there has been and continues to be such a blessing during my college years.
